Issue with attributes and groups not showing up

I have the same issue as described here

And also - I can add new group. It is added to database also and I can see the new group in list. But when I want to add attribute to this group - then it doesn't show in drop down list.

 

I'm using 1.4.3 but I can't upgrade to 1.5 so thats not an option, fix described in link above doesn't work (I tried).

 

Using chrome,opera,firefox, nothing helps.
