Catalogue migration from one Prestashop to another

Recommended Posts

I have a shop born with Prestashop 1.4.x (I don't remember the exact version) and some week ago I updated to 1.5.3.1. The main features seem to work fine (product listing, cart and buying/paying) but I have a lot of minor issues, for example in the modules management, like:

  • in the module management page the category filter doesn't work, and I've to use the search box to find a module
  • the Twenga module doesn't work (the script to generate the feed falls in timeout). I've tried to reinstall it (I've had to uninstall manually although it's not reccomended) but it doesn't work anyway and it shows a cURL error (the cURL module is installed on server)

Considering all these issues, I'd like to install a clean version of Prestashop, using the last one downloadable, and then I should migrate all the catalogue (products + pics) from the old version to the new one.

Which is the best practice/way to do that?

P.S.: I've tried to find the way to do a massive export/inport of all the products, but I didn't found it.. I've read that in the newest versions of PS in the Catalogue/Products section should be some "export" link but maybe, after my not-working-so-well update there isn't any sort of that..

Thank you very much :)
