thx2012
I have not done anything to my store to create this issue v.1.4.4.1 When I log into the Back Office all images are missing. Front Office images are displayed fine.
benjamin utterback
Hi thx2012, on or around line 29 of in my config.inc.php file can you turn on errors "/* Debug only */ @ini_set('display_errors', 'off');" and set it to "/* Debug only */ @ini_set('display_errors', 'on');"
vekia
you're talking about ALL images (for example, images for layout) ? or just images related to the products?
benjamin utterback
Also, if you could provide screenshots, that would help us understand more of the problem.
thx2012
Thank you, for promt responses... I'm talking about all images (icons, thumbs, pics, etc) even my login screen was different (no log in box), just a white background.. I'll be at my workstation tomorrow and will follow up with a screen shot and will follow Benjermin's suggestion.. Strange how, all of a sudden all my images would disappear in BO without any kind of action on my part.
vekia
it looks like you've got troubles with css styles. are you able to check sources for .css files attached to the page? you can also turn console log on (chrome: ctrl shift J) if any error appear (404 or something) please let us know

vekia
so the problem is with permissions to the files mentioned in the log. make sure that you've got there correct permissions (i don't know what permission type is correct for your webhost) you have to use correct permission type for all directories & files
thx2012
Thank you for your feedback! I have done nothing to my site or server, so why would permissions all of a sudden be an issue? I've been running live without incident for some time now, and out of the blue, I start experiencing this problem.. Would anybody know what the correct permissions should be? vekia
well, if you're on shared hosting - your hoster probably change server settings or something similar, now you have to set correct permissions. we don't know what is the correct permission setting for your hosting service. Where you've got hosting? what CHMOD you've got now? (for files mentioned in the error log)
benjamin utterback
Are you hosting it yourself? If not, call your webhost and mention the problem. Also, make sure that on your server you have root/img and not another folder name like root/image . Change that folders permission, what is it set now? thx2012
I set up a VPS with linode server, installed cPanel and configured as necessary. I'll update this posting in a few days, when I return to my workstation; and will confirm permission settings. Thanks again for your attention! thx2012
I had my partner log in with FTP and the permissions for: public_html = 750 img/ = 755 img/ was adjusted to 777 and nothing was resolved. As I mentioned, nothing was adjusted prior to this issue and this is preventing our customers from using shopping cart (SSL). @Benjermin, I also have another folder in my root for external images.. public_html/img public_html/images I've had that images folder for long time without issues.. That folder (images/) is however with permission of
thx2012
Sorry, i did not mention subdirectories.. When he FTP, the img/ display 755 And the sub directories in img/ where 644 He adjusted img/ to 755 with all subdirectories included. Now, img/ and it's subdirectories are set to 755 And issues are still present.. He adjusted img/ to 777 with all subdirectories included. vekia
so i think problem is with htaccess or apache virtual host (domain) configuration, there where you've got SSL definition im not sure at all, without an access to the bash is hard to say what's going on
thx2012
I researched the .htaccess file and it did not look like the one I had in backup, so I reverted to my backup version of .htaccess and now everything is working fine.
