Asking for advice on upgrade 1.49 >> a) 1.5.3.1 b) 1.5.4.x

dear Presta users,

 

I still run happily Prestashop 1.4.9 with the Aternative Theme but now time has come to upgrade (I am going to offer some new payment modules that work only with 1.5x as I am told).

 

My problem is that I am still uncertain whether to upgrade into V1.5.3.1 or new newer and titled as stable version 1.5.4.x.

Normally, I would not be in doubt since 'stable' is stable and newer is newer so why the heck should I bover not to install the 1.5.4`? Well, I was told now several times oder the last weeks and days that I would have less issues if I would install 1.5.3.1. This version would be best for me (we run a small shop and are hosted in Germany - for whatever that may count) and 1.5.4 whould be still problematic (at the people who gave me the advice did not talk only about problems with missing or false translations).

Ok, since 3 people who give advice are not enough to represent a statistically critical mass I would like to have at least asked the forum.

 

May be you can give me some tipps or advice, too, that would also be benefitial for many others who bother to upgrade...
