Upgrade from v1.3.6.0 to 1.5.4.1

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have a site running Prestashop v1.3.6.0. I would like to upgrade the site to version 1.5.4.1. Can anyone advise me of the best way to do this?

I want to keep the like site as it is for now, install a fresh copy of Prestashop and if possible import the data from the live site. As the data from the live site is from an old version of PS, can it be imported into the PS v1.5.4.1 version?

Any advise on this would be most welcome.

Luther

Better way of course is pass this work to one who know prestashop php and MySQL.

Its not that easy like they show in their videos (in just a seconds... huh...)

Every shop is like Pandora box ).

Try to find some Freelance and pay him before he can finish update.

I can try if you need. Pm me you price and access to you site ftp.

Hi Luther,

You should start out by creating a 'working' test system of your produciton site. This can be on your localhost or remote host. If remote use a subdomain name for example. (then back this up so you can re-use it for various tests).

Once you have a working test system then you can try the methods described by official PrestaShop 'how to's', i.e. auto upgrade and/or manual upgrade.

Get a feel for how the upgrade will go for you and which method is best.

There are a lot of steps that should be considered, i.e. 3rd party module you might have loaded that may or many not be 1.5 compliant, and your theme would not be compliant, you could use the default 1.5 theme until you get a handle on the upgrade.

Just remember..back up everything...test system, production shop etc....never do anything without an easy path to fallback.

More problems you need be prepared to solve:

  1. To big data base
  2. Errors in update procces
  3. Errors in you databases
  4. Errors on you php or apache configurations, like memory limits or run time limits.

So you need to be sure you can fix it all.

I think this ists help to some one.
