nalpdog
HELP!!! I created a CSV Product file in Volusion and want to move my products to PrestaShop. I do click on the CSV import location in PrestaShop and the Products selection. Also the file does up-load. However when I click on next I get hundreds of errors. Can anyone help me move my product or tell me what I am doing incorrectly? Thank you, Rich
benjamin utterback
Hello, did you format the CSV file from Volusion so that it will work with PrestaShop? Or did you upload the same CSV that you created?
nalpdog
to my understanding, I only created the CSV file and then uploaded it to PrestaShop
benjamin utterback
Okay, I emailed you a sample CSV. I used the email you used to register to the forum, only I and other Admins can see it so don't worry. You can compare this CSV file to what you have and see what the differences are. I hope this helps!
nalpdog
OK - I sent you a copy of my file as it looks just like your sample. Now what???
benjamin utterback
I would take a look at this thread for some more information. Your CSV file is in volusion's format. It will not work with PrestaShop until you format it correctly. http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/252244-insert-product-direct-to-prestashop-database/
nalpdog
Ok - I got to the next step and clicked on CSV import - the timer is running for about 5 min now. I am only loading about 700 products. My next CSV is 2,000 products. Is it simply taking time to upload or is it frozen and not functioning. Thank you, Rich
benjamin utterback
It could take 5 or more minutes. It depends what kind of hosting you are on you may need to increase your memory limit and max execution time in your php.ini file.
shiggidydog
hey nalpdog, I just finished importing in about 3000 products with over 10 thousand combinations through csv. I originally tried godaddy's shared hosting but their servers kept timing out (even after adjusting php settings for max memory and max execution time). As a result, I had to install prestashop on a local server and then import the csvs locally. Once everything was finished, I took a database dump and imported the dump into godaddy's database. I highly suggest you do the same. It will save you time rather than trying to figure out what's wrong with your host when you get timeouts after 1.5 hours of processing. This solved all of my issues.
shiggidydog
FYI, to upload the products.csv file with about 3 thousand files took about 5 minutes. The combinations file took about 2 hours to process just to give you an idea of how long it takes. Your mileage may vary based upon the system you're using. I am using a Dell blade server dual core with 4 gigs of ram.
nalpdog
Thank you for the reply, It seems like Volusion creates the csv with categories and products, once I changed the setting it stated it uploaded all 777 of my start-up products to my shop. but when I go to the shop they are not there. Any Ideas, can I share my SKYPE with you and get some help??? thanks
