log-in only group products (for my wholesalers) appearing in general search

Hi,

 

I run ethical-pets.co.uk and use prestashop PrestaShop™ 1.4.4.1 for now though I am hoping to update later in the year when I move my shop to a new server. (I have some adaptations and modules that will make this hard for me to do without help).

 

My shop is mostly retail but I recently expanded into wholesale and have a group of productswhich should only be visible to people who log in with an account that is on the wholesale group list in my backoffice.

 

You will see this product category appear if you log in, use [email protected] and yarrah as the password. As you can see an extra category called Wholesale pops up when you log in (its under Dog, Cat etc in the left handside nav box). Please log out again for the next part.

 

HOWEVER, a customer emailed us asking about one of the products from our wholesale sections which they should not have been able to see, and we discoverd that these products are all visible when you search in the search bar on the left. so, if you search for Yarrah, you can see all the products withthe name [trade] at the end (on mage 2) which should only be visible to you if you are loged in and a member of the wholesale group.

 

I really don't know what to do. obviously its impetritive that retail customers cannot see wholesale prices. I don't want to just remove the search box though, as people seem to use it a lot.

 

any ideas?
