New install: No product description showing on web site

ok, I installed the latest version of prestashop Prestashop™ 1.5.4.1, got rid of the stuff that's there and created a new category for my products

worked fine for the first product, but when I try to add a new product nothing is shown in the short description nor in the full description, anyone know wtf is happening, I even installed Google browser just incase it was an IE issue but its the same on that one, I thought this was supposed to be a stable release??
