Problems setting prestahop up

hi,

 

im trying to install prestashop on a database server i have on internet.

 

ive got FTP client, i can login with the details and such, but when im trying to get past setp 3, it cant connect to my database.

 

Database server name - i take my FTP host name i am provided (my domain name)

Database name - I choose my ftp host name there too.

Database login - My login details i use when logging in to my FTP

Database password - same as above

 

But it wont find the DB... I've done this before, but it was a long time ago. I can login via Filezilla to my database without any issues. Help me out.

Database server address: try, strange as it sounds:

localhost

database name: the name of your database, (doesn't have to be/probably not exactly the same as your domain name, so check with phpmyAdmin (or any other db manager you use) what's the exact database name.)

login and password: try once more with phpmyadmin to login to the database and use this info here.

P.S. what version do you try to install? What host do you use? Doesn't your host have an install script ready available? Do they support or at least confirm possibility of installation of PS on their servers?
