I know that PrestaShop makes folder for each product-image and in the databese it has stored the numbers of folder so it can find proper images. I tried to import it via csv ( http://www.home-port.net/user_guide/index.php/article/printer/start3-presta ), but nothing happend :S Any suggestions? Herland
Sometimes it happens, I try other locales (Spanish forum) they have wonderful people willing to help. Back on topic, I'm having this issue to add products. I'm working on prestashop 1.4.7 I added to ps_product_land and ps_product but no success... PD: are there many images you want to upload from the products? I have done csv uploads with success.

Herland
I think csv is the best choice for your situation. I can guide you through uploading your products with the images succesfully. I will give you some posts I made regarding my situation and how I solved. Post 1 : http://www.prestasho...ample-for-v147/ I believe it's important to share what you know, so I made this tutorial for you: STEP 1: STEP2: EDIT: STEP3 Edited June 8, 2013 by Herland (see edit history)
PascalVG
Hello Herland, Many thanks for your tutorial. For sure helpful for many people! One small remark/check: When reading the story, I make up that I can change the field separator into a comma (which is correct). In your picture STEP 3 you mention that the image URLs "must to be separated by comma's". This can be somewhat confusing. As far as I know from other programs, you have to use different separators for field separator (FS) and multiple value separator (MVS), to distinguish between them. so for example FS=',' and MVS=';' OR FS=';' and MVS=',' but not both ',' Please correct me if I'm wrong, (which is entirely possible) Furthermore, it's great you took your time to educate us. Thanks again. Very useful! pascal.
Herland
Thanks @PascalVG you're absolutely right. I always made sure my multiple value separator to be comma (as defined in STEP 1) so I never had problems with that. I made an edit to STEP 3. mali8
Thanks Herland for the tutorial, but that doesn't help me. I gotta do this automatically, not by uploading the .csv file :S
mali8
Can i update product with .csv file???
benjamin utterback
Hi mail8, yes, you can update products via CSV as long as the "ID" is the same as the product you want to update. It will override the corresponding product with the same ID.

Hi, if you are using 1.5.4, check this thread out, http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/239306-exporting-csv-in-154/ Otherwise, there are modules that will export your products for you, this is one of them, http://addons.prestashop.com/en/export-modules/4925-moussiq-extended-product-csv-export.html

nalpdog
I am curious - I have been attempting to move my product from Volusion - the csv files seem to transfer however do not show in my catalogue. When I do get them to show the short description is missing and the photos are missing. Any suggestions on solving this problem??? By the way I even attempted to use cart2cart and they have not solved the issue.
mali8
I recommend you, to write a script (i done it with php) which creates the .csv for PrestaShop, then you just import it I'm sure it can be done this way
