Using new address at one step checkout

I'm using PS 1.4.5.1, with the one step checkout option. At the moment customers are able to click the "add new address" link, which takes them to another page to input that address. Once that's saved it goes back to the checkout page.

 

The problem is the default address is still shown at checkout, and you'd need to use the dropdown list to pick the new address you just entered. This is counter-intuitive to my customers who think the new address they just gave would be the one the order is sent to, so they don't check again! I've lost several orders in the post that way because they got sent to old addresses.

 

Is there a way for the new address just entered to be the one shown at checkout?

I also need to let the customers adding their "new address" direct in the OPC and show 'em in the BO as a 3rd one together with delivery addresss and invoice address.

 

I would be very much grateful if someone can show me the way to get this done
