byoung85
To all the PrestaShop SEO experts, As a PrestaShop noob working on a sport supplement e-commerce site, I became aware of a fundamental SEO issue when working with the 'Combinations' option. After creating a flavor variation of a single product (i.e. chocolate / vanilla) from the 'Combinations' option in the back office, I went to the products detail page (front office) to make sure the flavor option was available to my customers. Surely, the option was available. However, I noticed that the URL changed when selecting a different flavor from the created drop-down option. Below shows the URL change: Chocolate flavor: http://www.powersupp...lavor-chocolate Vanilla flavor: http://www.powersupp.../flavor-vanilla Does this mean I created two distinct pages for the same product? If so, would this count as a duplicate content from a Google's POV? Any input would be helpful. Thanks. - AL -
Bill Dalton
AL, no it doesn't. This "#" is called an anchor and is used to mark sections of a page. In other words you can have, yoursite.com/page.html#top-of-page yoursite.com/page.html#bottom-of-page The anchor text is ignored because it is just html marking different sections of "one" page. Another good example of the use is making FAQ pages where the links send you to the correct paragraph on the same page. Not to worry.
