Anotherkid
Hey guys, i have a quick question for you.If you are based in the UK and using prestashop for your e-commerce website, could you please reply with what gateway and what company you have your merchant account with. And mention if you've encountered any problems with that combination and prestashop.I'm starting my first ever e-commerce website and really like prestashop but it's looking like for some reason there aren't many combinations that work with it in order to accept credit and debit cards?Credit and debit card payments are one of my highest priorities for my website (it's one of the most IMPORTANT and critical things any e-commerce website needs to be honest!) so if prestashop can't give me that, i'm afraid i'll be forced to jump to a different cart. Which would be a shame, as i like everything thing else so much so far.Regards.
Snol
does this help?http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/16173/modules/module_protx_direct_vsp_direct__on_site_paymentJOhn
Anotherkid
Thanks! That does help somewhat! however can i ask you here about it. I googled Protx and sagepay comes up as they apparently changed their name. I'm a bit confused as to what i'm supposed to do. I know you need a gateway compatible with the cart + merchant account compatible with the gateway (what a formula lol!).Protx (or sagepay) seem to be the gateway but they also say they've teamed up with the bank of scotland in order to provide merchant accounts also. If this is the case, it would all definitely work together. Is this all correct? And do you use this combo? any comments on how well it works? what are the rates like?thank you very much for the help!
Snol
Streamline (RBS) provide the merchant bank...Sagepay(the new name for Protx) provide the gateway. The cost for the gateway is only£25 from Sagepay but streamline is chragde at different percentages dependant on what payments are processed..push them for the best deals they are trying to get more business at the moment. Im not sure of the streamline costs as our book keeper takes care of it but they do work together. I am using it on another site at the moment but will be integrating with prestashop.Good luckJohn
Anotherkid
that seems perfect to me! i'm really glad someone has been working on this module, but it's a bit shocking to say the least that prestashop doesn't come with payment modules by default? especially when you look at other competing carts that have 10+ compatible gateways easily available. the most important feature of e-commerce is the ability to accept a range of payment methods so no user can't pay how they want to pay. Also, i've read about 3-d secure by visa and mastercard, does this come into the formula in any way? Snol
I think that is part of the streamline setup, not the cart.John
sapphal
I've been using the Worldpay module with no problems.
first1
been using sage pay/protx for a while and it works very well with the module that was mentionned above.by the way, you dont have to use RBS if you have your merchant account with another bank you can use what you have (i.e, i use barclays).but it wont hurt if you contact them, as things do change and not sure if my info is uptodate.
