GoneVintage
Hi, After numerous unsuccessful attempts to get the existing free modules to do the job, I'm posting this thread to get more clues on how to create a xml feed Google Merchant would accept without any errors. I'm using Prestashop 1.5.4 with default theme ( slightly color modified ). Thank you for any suggestions. Peter

jimmyc
Once known as google base and google shopping (for seo here). if anyone knows a good implementation of this in our prestashop stores, that would be great. Even the paid version seems to have poor reviews.
Dh42
This one works pretty well http://addons.prestashop.com/en/seo-prestashop-modules/1768-google-merchant-center.html
GoneVintage
This one works pretty well http://addons.presta...ant-center.html Thank you! As the products I sell are mainly vintage collectibles and single quantity items, I'm still wondering whether GMC will give my sales any positive impact. So far I'm looking for a Free or a Low Cost Module to do my tests:)

GoneVintage
Sure I am. I'm already 2 weeks behind my Adwords Campaign start. Funny thing, though. Most of the visitors that came to my site from a Google Add click visit only one page and then leave. Other traffic sources seem to bring much more quality traffic (page views) ... Dh42
That is why I don't put all of my eggs in one basket. I try to keep my clients traffic around 60% coming from google.

Sgt1966
We have complex products and a more complex prestashop cart. however, we have purchased and tried both: http://addons.prestashop.com/en/seo-prestashop-modules/1768-google-merchant-center-google-shopping.html and also http://www.businesstech.fr/en/google-and-advertising-modules-for-prestashop/11-google-merchant-center-module-for-prestashop.html and both modules failed to even generate desire xml file with products for each combination of attributes. Our server runs 16 CPU Core processors, 64GB of Ram and Raid with 480GB SSD hard drives, it is a dedicated server. Any other recommendations for Google Merchant Feed modules ? Thank you
David Niry
Hi Sgt1966, Just answered your other post in another thread. I'm sorry our module does not work for your specific needs. We have sold several thousand copies of it, and have a 98% satisfaction rate on it, and I see that some of our other customers have posted their satisfaction here as well. But indeed, for some merchants with very specific needs or configurations, it sometimes does not fit the requirements, and the only option at that point is to have an agency use it as a basis to tweak things for your needs. Making it work for 100% of merchants is just impossible, though we strive to always add more features that can benefit a large number of merchants and continually improve it to satisfy an increasing percentage of our customers. bernd445
This modul is very shit http://addons.presta...ant-center.html The company gets almost 130 euros for the module and then the installation does not work. The rationale is that the robots.txt file allegedly prevents the installation correcte. Thus I have the robots.txt file renamed and again tried, of course without success. The company offers the service to the module to install for an additional 40 euros. I think all buyers have fallen for this trick. I can only be avoided everyone know about this module. Saves your money and hassles
Dh42
I have not had an issue with the module. It is a pretty popular module for creating feeds. I will pass the information along to them though.

Saves your money and hassles Hi bernd445, I think you are mixing up our Business Tech module (http://addons.prestashop.com/en/price-comparison/1768-google-merchant-center-google-shopping.html) which only costs 99€ with the one from PrestaShop (http://addons.prestashop.com/en/price-comparison/1615-google-shopping-merchant-center.html) which costs 129€. Ours is not only cheaper by 30€, but it is also much more comprehensive, configurable and robust, and our staff is much more knowleadgeable about the whole Google Shopping set of rules and prerequisites, therefore our tech support is also much more efficient and prompt. For example, we do not have issues with the robots.txt file since we generate the XML files at the root of the shop. However, since robots.txt forbids robots from crawling into the /modules directory, if the feed files are generated there, then indeed Google will say there is a problem fetching it. This is a mistake I had made myself on the very first release of the module back in 2010 when I had first personnally developed it, and I can assure you this was quickly fixed over 5 years ago already after we had sold our first copy... The downside is that on some server configurations, new file creation at the root of the shop is not allowed, in which case, the easy way to get around it is to just create empty files, name them appropriately and upload them manually via FTP and then CHMOD them correctly, something we explain and illustrate with screenshots in our online FAQ included in the module, or do through our tech support team 100% free of charge very quickly when this problem does present itself. So my advice is to double-check your order, and if what I am saying is correct and you indeed got mixed up, I can assure you we WILL get things to work quickly for if you get a refund on your previous order and purchase ours, should you experience any problems at all...
