Sagie
Hi, I need some help from the gurus here. I'm currently using a template that based on PrestaShop engine 1.4.7.x and has the same compatibility. Can I upgrade my PrestaShop to 1.5.4.1 and still use this template? Is this new upgrade compatible with 1.4.7.x templates? Thank you
Bill Dalton
Sagie, no, a 1.4 theme will need some modification. How much and what depends on the theme. If you really want to keep it, best to post in paid help and get an estimate on the upgrade. Plus side is they should take care of upgrading the core as well. http://www.prestashop.com/forums/forum/76-paid-modules-themes-job-offers-services/

Sagie
Thanks guys. I think I'll stay with this version and won't upgrade. I can't sustain downtime and bug resolving for now. Also, I'd rather seek professional paid help for this matter and not count on "it'll be OK"...
Bill Dalton
Good plan. No need to upgrade unless you need a feature like multi store.
entrancey
easiest way to try? install fresh v1.5+ at a subdomain/folder and upload the v1.4+ theme btw, if u r using paid template, you may always ask the developer for the latest copy of ur theme for free. bill : at first i have doubt about it but its been running for nearly 2months without problem...already standby the v1.5 theme's copy just incase. didnt use the v1.5 due i have customize the v14 theme quite a lot. so far so good
