I hope that someone will be able to assist me.

I have created a website using Prestashop.

I want to create a section where a consultant can log in and view/ download training material.

Can someone please provide some insight on how to do this?

Ok, let me try to explain in more detail:

We have this site that sell beauty products. People also can join to sell the products part-time (direct selling). When these people join to sell products training material need to be provided from time to time. And instead of e-mailing the information due to size, it is better to create a training section for the consultants.

The consultant will then be able to log in as an employee and have access to ONLY the training material and NOT any other information.

Better explanation?

Well

i think that the best option is to create seaprate module for this, exactly as Alex suggested above.

BUT

maybe it is better to create module for front office? Not for BO? Then consultant will be able to download the file form "my-account" section.

As Alexander and vekia already suggested, I'd go for a module too. You could create a separate page that links in the account menu, so that every user can access to that page after registration. You could aldso tailor customer-specific material this way, if you setup an admin interface that allows you to save data for every customer. Here is a short hint on how to create new pages

What about creating a new group for those 'employees' and allow access to a new category 'Training' only for this group. You can then add (virtual) products with either in the detailed description the training itself (You can add video/pictures etc. here as well I believe) so you don't have to 'buy' it, or make a downloadable file with the training in it?

My 2 cents,
