How do I fix broken links?

I need help to fix the broken links in my website I have 53 broken links of the type '404' and 42 broken links of the type '500'.

This may sound naive but I am clueless with this problem. Kindly assist.

if you've got 500 error - you should check php error logs. You can find there more informations about errors.

 

and what about 404? Can you paste an example url which isn't working? Where you've got list of pages which aren't working? You're talking about google webmaster tools?

I have got the list from this site https://www.attracta.com/user/v5/apps/app_19.jsp?code=404 broken links app. So once I click on the 404 - view details it displays the details (pasted after this list)

 

Results Error Code Code Meaning Number of Errors Found 403 Forbidden 0 view details 404 Not Found 53 view details 406 Not Acceptable 0 view details 500 Internal Server Error 42 view details

So they ask me the following "Simply go to each "Page linking to error page" listed in the reports and remove the Broken Link to the missing page or redirect it to another, existing page."

but I just cant make head nor tail of it.
