Strange problem on the first step of install

Installing the prestashop_1.5.4.1, after having the previous version of it installed. Completely deleted it, started installing the new one, and i cannot get past the first step. This picture:

 

I press both buttons (or only the first one, doesn't matter) - press next - and the page just refreshes itself. It doesn't go to anoter step.

 

Completely confused. Has anyone had this?

This is not normal, are you deleted your old database ? from Phpmyadmin ?

Yes, I have. What's more, you see, this step doesn't even concern database. It's only the beginning of the install.

2. can you please turn browser console (in chrome f12 / fn+f12) - does any error appear in the console tab ?

I'm on remote server.

There are no errors in the console (ctr+shift+J in chrome, if that's what you were talking about)

The server is ok:

 

php 5.3

mysql 5.1.x

apache 2.2.x

php memory limit 256MB

In my case it was the absense of the temp folder.
