How many prestashop stores I can run in a server [Windows IIS6]?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

There is so many variables (server hardware, number of visitors during peaktimes, your internet connection) that affect the number of stores you can host on a server.

If your stores doesn't get any visitors, then you can host as many as your harddrive space allows you to. But as you add products, database and fileserver size will increase.

Conclusion: It will be impossible to give you an answer as your variables will most certainly change over time, skewing any predictions.

Hi Carlson & Vekia,

Thanks for your response.

There will be three or four stores with 1000 products in each store. The main area will be grocery and household products. Hence the traffic will be more, the expected visitors and orders will be around 1000.

In short :

Grocery stores (3 or 4)

1000 products in each store

1000 visitors per store / per month (may increase)

Shall i use multi store or i need to create individual stores?

Is there any minimum specifications required for Processor,RAM and Hard Disk on hosting server?

I guess i need to have linux hosting which will be important for SEO friendly URLs.

it all depends on your needs. You can create separate shops, and you can also create two stores with multistore feature.

In my opinion it's better to create separate shops. Why? Maybe in the future you will want to move one shop to other host, if you will use multistore - you will have to move all files and all entries in the database (for both stores)

Definitely, in my opinion hosting based on unix system is the best - standard LAMP (linux+apache+mysql+php) and your store will work like a charm :-)
