Problem with paypal currency conversion in PS 1.5.4.1

How to set Currency restriction for Paypal module in Prestashop 1.5.4.1 to ONE currency only (Eur), without enabling Customer currency and Shop default currency, the one of which must me selected in radiobox? Problem is that Paypal module did not convert from shop default currency (which not supported by Paypal) to Eur, the default currency of my Paypal acc. My shop default currency not supported by Paypal, and although I have two currencies enabled in Localization > Currencies, when user do checkout in non-supported currency, it get error L_LONGMESSAGE0 -> Currency is not supported.

 

So user always need switch currency to Eur on product page before he checkout with Paypal. Paypal module simply not convert to Eur when customer did checkout in non-supported currency.

Reading your post, I presume you likely have more experience configuring country-currency-paypal parameters in PS.

I am a newbie and got an error message which is not as same as yours but similar.

I would really appreciate any advice.

 

 

Prestashop version: 1.5.3.1

PayPal version: 3.5.1

My shop runs in Romania:

Default Language: Romanian

Default Country: Romania

Default currency: Leu = RON (642)

Languages: English, Romanian

Zones: Europe, North America

Countries: Romania, United States

Tax Rules: Hawaii, Romania

 

I wanted to make a test purchasing from U.S. using Paypal check-out and express check-out also

 

Shipping - seems ok to me:

 

Pick up in Store > free, and enabled zones U.S and Europe

 

Payment Restrictions > Modules - Payment

Currency: both USD and RON can be used by PayPal, and Customer currency is enabled in the radiobox

Countries: only U.S and Romania are active, both can use PayPal

Customers: Visitors, Guest and Customers can buy with PayPal

 

My Paypal account considering a Romanian account: its address and bank account are Romanian.

This Paypal account has been running perfectly for years, and it has been upgraded to a business account due to the shop.

So, My Country is set to Romania in the PayPal module configuration.

 

Do you have any advice which configuration should be changed to get a successful Paypal purchase?

I even can not decide whether I made a mistake in PS configuration, or the PS Paypal module or Paypal did something wrong.
