Installation Fails at last part

Recommended Posts

Ok, I have had a few issues during this installation so far, but have up to now been able to resolve, or it would seem that I have.

Everthing now gets to the last page 23% and then I get this:-

X Create default shop and languages

An error occured during installation...

You can use the links on the left column to go back to the previous steps, or restart the installation process by clicking here.

When I go back it then tells me that the database already has tables with the prefix 'ps_' well this is not the case unless it has just created them as it is a new db.

any ideas guys as I am so close but stumbling at the last, and don't know what it could be, have checked the settings.ini file and everything looks fine, unless I am missing something.

Help please.

Cheers

Have checked the db and there are 220 tables created all looking fine the db has no errors, content of the db is empty as i would expect other than the three tables listed as ps_shop, ps_shop_group, ps_shop_url.

so cant see why prestashop would have a problem, and am getting no information about the issue other. Prestashop [spam-filter]'s please give me some help her as cant see the error.

Cheers

you use installation package from official website? Or maybe it is a package from something like scriptaculous?

truncate your database, before installaton the database should be empty (if you want to use the same prefix)

Hi yes it is original download from Prestashop.

The database is completely empty with no data or tables of any kind.

I don't understand why Prestashop is having a problem at this stage, it has connected to the db and has created in the clean db an array of 220 tables and populated minimal information in 3 of them so why does it then come back with an error and as far as it tells me it is because the db has tables that are already existing that it is trying to create? but it created them?? help

Is this the case or is there something else that is going on on the final section of the installation? I just don't know.

Cheers

Hi Lancealot

I am using a remote server with Easily, that is running "MySQL client version: 5.0.77"

yes same 23% can go no further, have tried changing the prefix, the language etc, just seems to be a no go, am thinking at the moment to roll back to a previous version as there seems to be an installation issue, judging by the amount of people that are having the same issues.

Thanks for the ideas any more would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I am getting the same problem also. I get to the "Installation Assistant" on the last section and it freezes up at 12% in the status bar. If I check it gives me a "Create database tables" error. If I go back a step it tells me that there is already a database table with that prefix and in my database there is a database with 218 tables from ps_access to ps_zone_shop. I have deleted the tables three times and started installation over and every time it is the same.

My hosting service using Elefante Installer installs Prestashop 1.3.3 with no problems but I wanted the 1.5.4 version so I uninstalled the other files completely, deleted the database and uploaded Prestaship 1.5.4.

Web server:

Apache/2.2.16 (Debian)

Database client version: libmysql - 5.1.66

PHP extension: mysqli Documentation

PHP Version 5.3

Database server:

Server: mysql21.freehostia.com via TCP/IP

Server type: MySQL

Server version: 5.1.50-log - MySQL Community Server (GPL)

Protocol version: 10

User: *******[email protected]

Server charset: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8)

I am frustrated as well.

All I can say is in my past experience with this similar issue it was caused by a PHP version (PHP 5.3 worked, but PHP 5.4 got stuck), or if the hosting provider setup their MySQL for MASTER-MASTER setup and set the "auto_increment_offset", this will also cause this installer stuck issue. Prestashop is the only shopping cart software I have used that had trouble with the "auto_increment_offset" being set, and it didn't cause issues in past versions of the Prestashop installer, but causes issues in the recent version installer. Once I got both of those things fixed, I was able to install the software. But now I am dealing with other Prestashop issues. In my experience so far PrestaShop looks great, but can be buggy or bugs that are reported as fixed in the forums don't seem to be actually fixed. Good luck.
