iHostingWebs
I’m using 1.5.3.1 and I’m having a problem creating accounts and adding items to the cart. I tried upgrading to 1.5.4.1 and it caused a whirlwind of other problems not sure why but it may have been the template that I’m using so I want to stay with version I’m using. Can someone please guide me into the correct direction to get these 2 items fixed?
benjamin utterback
Yes, we can work together to try and solve the issue. Please explain the problem more. What problems are you having? Was this a fresh install of 1.5.3.1?
iHostingWebs
Yes, this is a brand install of 1.5.3.1 ... I have all my products loaded and all my settings in place and when I went to go test the site this is when I noticed that I can not add products nor create an account. Do you need to look at the site? Now on top of this I can't log back into the admin area and I even requested a new password and that isn't working. Any suggestions? benjamin utterback
Hi, yes, but it's better for you to post the link for us to see. There are coding experts on the forum that can help you more. That is really strange that you can't log back into the admin.
iHostingWebs
Sure the site is onpointdetailing.com that is having the problem and I also disable the mobile functions.
benjamin utterback
What kind of third party modules have you installed? I think that could be the issue.
iHostingWebs
If I remember correctly I added the QRCode module. Is there a way to get back into the admin area?

iHostingWebs
So I need to replace the font.css for that theme and it should all work? Okay I went into my file manager and found the font.css in the theme and its size is 0. I double checked the theme zip file and that font.css and its size is 0 as well. PascalVG
To get back into your back office, maybe try this: http://www.webhostinghub.com/support/edu/prestashop/302-reset-admin-password (second option, through database, if first one indeed didn't work for you..) benjamin utterback
Please make sure you backup your files and database before doing that. Obviously it's not too easy to break into your store, even with hosting access. Follow the instructions carefully! I also think it could be a module issue, there are some javascript errors on your website.
PascalVG
Is your 'leoelec' theme compatible with 1.5.3.1?? Try to change back to default prestashop for a moment and see if everything works fine. If so, the problem is with your theme files. You can either then contact the Theme creator and explain. Maybe they have an Idea. if not, change one by one the files that are in the theme/leoelec/ folder (or a subfolder) that have to do with login and create cart etc. with one of the default theme and see if the problem is solved by doing so (N.B. Make a backup of all your leoelec files/folders before doing so!) success! pascal
iHostingWebs
PascalVG thanks for the information and I did the phpAdmin and it still didn't work ... it seems like it wanted too but it still didn't open up the admin area.
iHostingWebs
Yes I have verified twice that the leotheme is 1.5.3.1 compatible and their tech support has also looked into the files and could find anything. I wonder if there is something in my cookie.php messed up? Edited May 15, 2013 by iHostingWebs (see edit history)

iHostingWebs
Question - If I do a new install of 1.5.4.1 and then switch out the databases so I can get my products back on the new install will that work even though that database was used on 1.5.3.1? benjamin utterback
That's a tough one. It would not be pretty. Did you try my link to reset the password. Revert to your backup maybe and try the second link, it is specifically for 1.5 .
iHostingWebs
Hi Benjamin - I did try that and tried using the password I originally setup and it didn't work but it seemed like it wanted too. So, I resent myself a new password and still the same it seemed like it wanted to open but didn't.
benjamin utterback
You tried pascal's link and my link?
iHostingWebs
Yes ... I followed instructions from both and still no success to login to admin area. This is just mind blowing because each time I've tried to rebuild this store at 3 separate time it comes down to the 2 minor problems. And I suppose rebuild from scratch again on 1.5.4.1 and losing over 3,400 products is not an option I care to think about at the moment since using the 1.5.3.1 database won't work. UGH!! benjamin utterback
Hi, why don't you have a professional look at your store and figure out what the problem is. Something happened along the way and we have experts here who can take a deeper look into it. This is definitely not a normal problem.
iHostingWebs
Thanks I may consider but for this project I have decided to go with OpenCart at this time. Thanks for all the help though.
