Free Shipping for ONLY some of products

It depends on the behavior / shipping settings.

If you set your shipping by weight, you can set the weight for those products to 0, and they will not affect shipping.

If you want to offer free shipping whenever one of those products is in the cart, even if there are other products, and you use shipping by weight, you could set free shipping set at 10000lbs and set the weight of those products to 100000

If you use price ranges for your shipping, you would have to use a module or customize it yourself.

Our localized shipping module lets you select products / categories or manufacturers that will get free shipping, check out http://www.prestashop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/148747-module-localized-shipping-set-shipping-rates-by-country-state-or-zipcode-range-or-wildcard/

tomerg3,

Thank you for your fast reply.

I set the shipping as you mentioned, it works individually for each product with Free Shipping and not free shipping (regular shipping based on weight). But when I combine the same products the Free shipping applies for both in Shopping-cart summary.

Product tested:

Poly Poplin Tablecloth (Free Shipping)

Chiffon (regular shipping)

I've attached some screen shots.

My suggestion for 10000lbs was only if you want to apply free shipping to the entire cart when there is one "free shipping product" in it.

This will not work if you want to charge shipping for the other products.

tomerg3,

I was thinking the same thing because when both products (with Free Shipping and not free shipping) are in Shopping-cart summary, the Free shipping applies to both.

If I understood well this is not possible with Prestashop 1.5? is that correct?

Is your localized shipping module can resolve this problem?

Thank you.

My first suggestion was for free shipping for only 1 specific product.

All our shipping modules have the ability to assign free shipping for only 1 product (or category), however, it only applies to the module / carrier.

So if I apply the Free shipping to only one category, can I apply/set shipping for the remaining categories?

For example apply Free shipping for only Tablecloth Category and apply shipping to other categories.

Thank you for answering my question.

Any product or category that you add to the "free shipping" list, will be ignored when calculating shipping.

If those are the only products in the cart, then shipping will be free, if there are also other products in the cart, shipping will only be based on them.

That sounds good to me if I can set my shipping with your module.

Is there any product limit or category limit with your module?

I see you have a demo version of this module, I was wondering if I can test your module with my product, before purchasing, and see if this is exactly what I need.

Thank you

You can go to our demo site and try it out, create a couple of products, and add one in the free shipping list (from the configuration page of the module).

I can assure you that it works, as I wrote it myself :)

Keep in mind that it only applies to the carriers for a given module, if you use UPS & USPS, you'll need to get both modules from us (which is not a bad idea, as they offer many options that do not exists elsewhere, like label printing for UPS and shipping preview without login)

I will try the demo as soon as I can.

Questions:

1- Is your module compatible with Prestashop 1.5.4.1?

2- Is it compatible with UPS Ground (my current shipping carrier)?

Keep in mind that it only applies to the carriers for a given module, if you use UPS & USPS, you'll need to get both modules from us...

Which modules are you referring to?

Thank you.

All our shipping modules are compatible with the latest version of Prestashop.

If you use UPS, you will need to get our UPS module (http://www.presto-changeo.com/en/shipping-modules/50-ups.html ), which should replace the current UPS module you use.

If you are using Prestashop built in carriers (using weight ranges), you will need to get the Localized Shipping module. (http://www.presto-changeo.com/en/shipping-modules/83-localized-shipping.html )

We are using Prestashop built in carriers (using weight ranges) and we have an account set with UPS to get live rate.

So we would be more interested with other module (Localized shipping) to resolve the issue with the combine Free Shipping/ regular shipping in Shopping-cart Summary..

Localized shipping is a more advanced version of the built in weight / price range shipping, it lets you assign shipping rates per country / state or postcode (and also lets you set free shipping per product / category).

If will not affect any other Prestashop or 3rd party shipping modules (such as UPS), if you also want to use UPS with free shipping for certain products, you will need to also get our UPS module.

tomerg3,

I took a look at the Localized module and I was a little bit lost, I precise I didn't spend too much time to dig the options.

It seemed to me a little bit complicated because I saw that if I purchase the module I will need to modify some files, php or TPl.

Please let me know if I understood well or maybe it is easier to use than what I think.

I am not a coder and I am looking for a module without any extra coding, just I want to get the module and install and use it.

As I mentioned we use UPS Ground as carrier and we want to combine Free Shipping and Regular Shipping in Shopping-cart Summary, that means some of our products have Free Shipping and some others Regular Shipping.

I would appreciate it if you give me the total price for both modules.

Thank you.

If you wish to use the shipping rate preview in the cart block, you need to copy an override file, and add a new hook in a .tpl file.

Both are very easy to do, and in case you need help, we do offer a 1 time free installation.

You can purchase both modules from our site, we offer a $10 discount when buying multiple shipping modules, the voucher code is "SHIPPING"
