SSL redirect error

I have installed a new SSL Certificate on my server but can't get the HTTPS to work.

 

https works on the ADMIN pages but in the front end the site works fine until I try to go to a page with SSL eg: Contact page or Checkout.

 

In IE I get the following errors

• Internet connectivity has been lost.
  
• The website is temporarily unavailable.
  
• The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
  
• The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
  
• There might be a typing error in the address.
  
• If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.
  

can someone please test my site to see if its just me or is site broken. I can't find what settings I may have missed. I made a new install and it worked but then I can't use my template and there are too many products to switch. So I'd like to know what I've done that isn't working

I re-installed a fresh site and rebuilt it from scratch and SSL worked fine. Luckily I didn't have too many products to re-enter coz the export and import is rubbish. then re-installed my theme and all good.
