Upgraded the latest version and now cannot access my site

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I updated the new PrestaShop version today and now I can no longer access my website.

I have been pulling my hair out and therefore wasted an entire day and have now become a little upset as I need this website working. I wish I never updated it now.

It says I have to delete the /install folder and I am aware this can be done via FTP but I can't even get this to work.

Can someone please help me?

Tell me what information you need and I will supply it.

I backed up the website beforehand and this is the file name I downloaded - how do I upload this to restore my original site:

presta.72_60898.2013-05-09_05-26-23.tar

Thank you in advance,

Adam

Can anybody help me, please?

I wish I never updated the site - I was stupid to do it, but I like having the latest software.

This is one lesson I will never forget as I never envisioned encountering a problem like this.

I can't access PrestaShop at all until the /install folder is deleted. I can access my cPanel, but I cannot delete the /install folder. I was told you can do it through FTP, but FTP isn't working so has anyone got any ideas on what to do and how to do it?

I hope someone can help me.

Thank you,

Adam

Hi Adam,

plz login to filezilla and see the chmod for the file's group/owner..in my case some can be deleted and some cant be deleted which im not so sure whats the reason.

what u can do?

contact ur hosting provider to delete the install folder

or

just rename the install folder to other name either using cpanel or ftp software

thanks

*in my case, for quick fix, i just renamed first and update your hosting provider to delete the folder that u renamed earlier.

attached : example of the chmod for group/owner from my cpanel files in red box

all adelete-adelete5 are the folder that i cant delete but able to renamed them.
