mytheory.
Hi, We've been trying to upgrade our shop from v1.4.8.2 to the latest version. However, we have run into too many problems, and the upgrade has been unsuccessful to say the least. For some reason, the 1.5.4.0 update script returns an error; something about PHP:update_default_customer_group. So we tried upgrading to version 1.5.3.1, which returned a "ok" result. But when we logged into the BO there were an array of issues. The BO would not save, could not access product page, order detail page was broken, etc. So now looking at alternative methods to upgrade without loosing our data we have found Cart2Cart service. Looks like a great service at a good price. Before we try it, we wanted to see if anybody had tried their service... and if so, if they could provide us with any feedback in particular about issues and caveats to expect. Our main concern is that if we don't use the additional option of preserving the Product ID's we are worried it may cause issues with previous orders, etc. Also, we use ALOT of attributes on most of our products... the service states that it can migrate attibutes and variants. However, we want to know if it can migrate the price impacts some of these attributes have. Please post your honest reviews in general if possible. Thanks! mytheory.
Hi, Nobody's used Cart2Cart's migration services? Interesting as they seem to focus a lot on prestashop development. Thanks!
MagneticOne
Hi mytheory. In answer to all your questions regarding Cart2Cart: 1) You can use Cart2Cart migration as an alternative to the usual upgrade. This way you would move data to a fresh install of Prestashop. Remember only that Cart2Cart specializes only in database migration, which simplifies the most difficult and time-consuming part of upgrade process. The rest: transfer of content, design, module installation you would need to do afterwards on your own. 2) As for any issues and caveats, they rarely happen and usually the reason for them is the difference from default PrestaShop in data structure, previous customizations of the cart, etc. You can check how your data will be migrated by trying a free demo migration: https://app.shopping-cart-migration.com/ The service will move a couple of your products and you will be able to check the result on your target store. In case of any particular questions or issues our Support Team is ready to help you 3) As for product IDs, they will change on your target store, but they will also change in your previous orders, so there will be no confusion. 4) The attributes migrate without any issues and price - attribute relations are preserved. Let us know if you have any other questions and thanks for your interest Regards, Cart2Cart Team
mytheory.
Great! Thank you! We actually just completed our migration almost 2 weeks ago. Regular manual update wouldn't work for PS v.1.5.x. So glad to have found your service as it was quick and painless. We were able to open the store right after, and have been making minor tweaks (customization) since then. IT was so much better than we had expected and the results (although not perfect) were beyond satisfaction. Your service was priced very well (at least for the auto migration option), and it saved us a lot of time and headaches. There are some minor data that needs to be cleaned up, but we had that on our roadmap even before the migration so it wasn't a big deal and in some parts it actually helped us. Thank you!

mytheory.
Hi MagneticOne, I have a quick question about an issue with the migration... we still consider this to be a minor issue, but its one we can't figure out to fix automatically. When past orders were imported the invoices, delivery slips, credit slips, and RMA slips were not migrated. We can do without the Credit Slips and RMA slips, but for orders that do not have an invoice there is a "Generate an invoice" button, which generates an invoice for that order when clicked. The question is... Is there a way to automatically generate all the previous invoices instead of manually clicking that button for thousands of orders? Also, since the invoice and delivery slips are generated according to the order, is there a way (script) to generate the delivery slips also for past (migrated) orders? This would save us a lot of time. Thanks!

Hi mytheory., could you provide your migration ID in a private message or send a quick email to [email protected] ? We'll investigate your migration details to find the solution.
