Help Needed, no country shown when customer tries to create account

I really hope someone can help me with a problem i am having on my site. I have was told by a few customers that they were having problems trying to create account on my site which i also found when i looked into this.

When a customer clicks on my account and is sent to a screen where they can login or create a account as shown in the (create account jpeg) they enter a email address and click create your account they are sent to a screen to enter their details but they are not given the option to pick united kingdom or ireland, instead the option is only given for the letter U as shown in the (no country shown jpeg)

If a customer adds a item to the cart and clicks on the checkout button then adds a email address and clicks the create your account button it then takes them to the page to add their details but this time the option to add united kingdom or ireland works. this is shown in (create account through checkout jpeg)

I really hope someone can help me

I can only think that there is something wrong in the AuthController.php file

Did you make any changes to any files? specifically .tpl?

Does the issue occur with the default theme as well?

yes its the same with the default theme and we have not changed any files and this was working fine last month

we found that on another post and it did not work. it's just very strange that both ways of setting up a account goes through the AuthController.php file but they give different results.

im no coder but looking the through the code the thing that i think might have something to do with it is this part of the code

Something must have changed.

You can try doing a clean installation of PS and see if the issue persists, if not, install the theme you use, and then keep checking and moving data over from the old site.
