Do i have to use HTTPS with the default paypal module?

Hey guys,

 

i have a doubt: does the paypal integrated module use the paypal APIs to submit the payments or does it redirect the user to the paypal page?

 

I need to know it because if the paypal module uses the paypal APIs, then i need to activate HTTPS on my site and it will cost me about 100$ a year, but if the paypal module just redirects to the paypal site i will not have to enable HTTPS, because PayPal is under HTTPS itself.

 

 

 

Can anyone help me?
