Upgrade from 1.4.2 to 1.5.3/4

I have a live store im looking to upgrade from 1.4.2 to 1.5.3.1 or the latest 1.5.4.X

 

Has anyone done this? Anything to watch out for? Ideally id like to avoid a clean install so I can match all the urls etc

I've spent the day trying to upgrade from 1.4.3 to 1.5.4 but not succeeded. The auto update Module doesn't install and with a manual update I keep getting sql errors saying that table entries are missing. Frustrating.

tried autoupgrade module without a success..try the manual upgrade instead

i had to upgrade manually to 1.4.10, then the auto upgrade worked fine. just upgraded to newest stable. some minor adjustments need to be made but not as bad as i was thinking it would be. worth the time for me

Hello. I have 1.4.10, and the autoupdate module installed. I want tu update to 1.5.4.1, but it says that I have the latest version, so there is no "proceed to update" button. Do I need to manualy update to 1.5.x to be able to use the auto update feature in the future?

 

UPDATE: never mind, I found it. You have to use the expert settings button and set it to major updates...
