Is there a way to duplicate informaton/products from one shop into another domain?

Hello,

 

Is there a way that I can duplicate my Prestashop information/products onto an existing domain already installed with Prestashop?

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Is the already installed prestashop empty? And is it the same version? If so, just backup your database and import it into your other database. Change the domain name etc (google 'moving prestashop to other domain name' for manuals how to do this)

 

If you just want your products, this might help. Check however if it works for your version.

After exporting them, you can use the import csv in your other, existing prestashop.

 

Make sure you backup all files/databases before importing! A mistake is easily made. Starting over is easier than removing mistakes!

Thanks for all the info and quick response.

 

My existing Prestashop is running on 1.5.2 and the new one is running on 1.5.3.1. I still want to go through with the database backup and import, would you advise against that though?

 

Also, it is pretty much a fresh install besides the logo which I added.

Should be no problem. Just check the prestashop documentation, as there are a few changes you have to do manually to move from one domain to another:

Wait, just see the version is not the same...

Backup your old PS, and upgrade to 1.5.3.1 BEFORE you move to the new domain.

OR, install version 1.5.2 on your new domain, import and change as described, and THEN upgrade to 1.5.3.1
