bruce-rez
Hi, I have an account with UPS and I've already configured the UPS module. I set the shipping on "UPS by Ground" and it overcharges the shipping. Ex: shipping calculated by Prestashop 1.5.4.1 Product: Two Tone Chiffon Order: $28 Order Quantity: 5 yards fabric Weight of one yard: 0.155 lbs (set in BO) State: New York Zip code: 10001 Shipping: $38.75 I tested UPS with both options without any positive result: Billing: According to total price Billing: According to total weight Shipping calculated with UPS: $10 (for the same exactly quantity and zip code is). I spend hours and I cannot figure it out to get an accurate shipping cost. Can some one please give me some input/help how to set it up correctly. I want to make sure I didn't miss any configuration. Thank you. Edited June 19, 2013 by bruce-rez (see edit history)
tdr170
I was trying to look at this but you have limited my BO rights so I could not check the module configuration. Check the Module settings and at or near the bottom check your Packaging type and Calcul. mode. Choose Package and All items in one package. My guess is you have it set to separate package. bruce-rez
I set up the shipping as you mentioned and now it works and calculates the shipping almost accurately. The problem is the following: When I am logged in as a California customer it gives me the shipping rate of $6.28 but when I am logged out with the same California state/zip code (and the same exactly shopping cart) and I click on "Update cart" button it gives me the shipping rate of $9.29. That's weird. Could be a bug or any wrong configuration from me?
tdr170
I have always found that the estimate is wrong with UPS with USPS is much closer, in my actual shop I do not use the shipping estimator for this reason. In my case with the estimator it was always lower then the actual cost once you were logged in this may be due to handling charge and packing weight set in carrier config but not really sure. I don't think its a bug I think its just the diff between an actual address and an estimate based on a zip. I just checked on my test site when logged in USPS is 12.45 logged out 12.45 UPS logged in was 19.64 not logged in 15.02 same item. I then removed the handling fee and packaging weight and the price was lower on both UPS carriers but was still different when logged in or out, while USPS never changes. USPS only changes in the amount of the handling fee and packaging weight but with or without the price is the same logged in or not. Not sure why UPS is this way, I have not been able to test FedEx as our host does not support PHP soap. You can check this on my 1.5.4. test site http://team-shepherdusa.com/shop3 Edited May 3, 2013 by tdr170 (see edit history)
bruce-rez
I don't have any handling charge in my setup. The only setup is the weight of 1 yard of fabric. So according to your experience with UPS and USPS, the reason could be the unstable UPS live rate, not Prestashop's calculation? The question comes up in my mind is: what would be a consistent setup (Shipping and Tax) for all customers (USA) who want to checkout with login and without login? By the way I checked your site but it's off line, maintenance. Thank you.
OscarJ
Tengo configurado mi shoppingcart con el modulo Upscarrier las siguientes caracteristicas: status: - Connect to UPS is configured and online!
OscarJ, I suppose you read all the comment of this topic. As you can see so far this problem at least for me it's not resolved and I am in the same situation than you. Shipping calculation in Prestashop 1.5.4.1 is not accurate and it looks like a bug. I've reported this issue in Prestashop forge, here is the link: http://forge.prestashop.com/browse/PSCFV-9067 Good luck and if you find any solution please do not forget to come back to share ...
