themadhouse
New to the Forums had my website up for about 3 weeks. I searched for the answer and can not find it anywhere. Looking at the Visitors Origin, What does the direct link visits actually mean? How am I getting these hits. I am a little confused because it seems almost every place I clicked my link from it was either showing it coming from twitter, or facebook, or google.I really doubt people are typing my url in since it is a very new site. Only one link I clicked on inside Facebook showed up as a direct link. If someone could clear this up I know it is a very beginner question? menhir
I have same question. Last month 91% have accessed the site using direct link. 2% is from Google, 3% from facebook. It doesn't feel correct that 91% of visitors are typing in the address... Anyone in the forum who can explain this?
preserver
Me, too. My site has only been up a week and a half and nearly all visits are from a 'direct link'. Is this probably just traffic from hackers trying to access the site, or what? Anyone have any experience with this? Thank you! menhir
hello these entries have got different ip addresses? I don't know - how can I see the ip-addresses? An example from my stats is: Direktlänk (Direct link) 1718 google.se 121 google.com 23 translate.googleusercontent.com 11 bing.com 5 translate.google.com 3 google.co.uk 1 search.incredimail.com 1 translate.google.be 1 google.no 1 se.search.yahoo.com 1 Please tell me how I can see the ip-addresses and I will try to answer your ip-question. Digital Essence
Can you check these figures against your server stats or add Google webmaster tools or Analytics to your site. That should give you a fuller picture of your traffic.
menhir
Thanks for your answer. The Google analytics shows more information about the visitors like countries, OS, browsers etc but I can't find ip-addresses on Google Analytics. However, Google only shows around 10% visits compared to Prestashop so I don't know which one is most correct..
preserver
Today 240 visits and visitors. However, when you look at visitors online now, the listing of guests shows visitors (usually 3) with the the same IP address. So of the 27 people viewing the shop now, there are only about 9 different IP addresses. They are all on product pages, so that doesn't seem suspicious. Visitors origin is almost completely from direct links except for a couple from semalt.com and privhosting.com, and a handful from google. Do all those visitors coming from direct links make sense??? I am getting google analytics hooked up right now to see if more info helps.
