RCP90
Hi Guys, As per the title really. I am looking at payment gateway modules, we use Sagepay on our current site, so I thought I would carry this on on our new site. I had a look on the Add-ons and there seems to be 2 Sage Pay modules available. Module SagePay Payments [Module Removed from Addons] Module Sage Pay Go The first is £34.95 and the second is £218.95. Does anyone know the differences between the modules except the price? Thank you [sage Pay Go is the only official PrestaShop Sage Pay Module] -Mod Edit
Dh42
The first module does not work with 1.5 very well. It does not support guest checkout, it does not support people making purchases from the US, and the code is rather poorly written. I actually talked to Kamel about removing the 1.5 form the module yesterday morning. The other module, I have not used it. Presto changeo also makes a sage pay module too.
RCP90
OK, Thank you for the reply. We are based in the UK, and will only be processing orders in GBP and EUR. Can you recommend a solid payment module? Taking a look at the Presto Changeo one now, seems nice with good reviews. Thanks again Dh42. Dh42
This is a solid sage pay module, http://www.presto-changeo.com/en/payment-modules/32-sagepay-payment.html but I would offer paypal too. Maybe moneybookers if it is big in the UK.
RCP90
OK It seems that the one you recommended Dh42 does not include all of the required features. Sagepay currently provide a fraud score and 3rd man results with every transaction, and also tell us weather the card being used is registered at the card address or not. So I need these features for the payment module of our new site. Our current site has a turnover in excess of £70k pcm so good fraud detection tools are extremely important. This information is provided directly from Sage Pay for each transaction so I know it is available. I emailed Prestashop to see if their module includes these features ( i hope it does considering the price tag!). Dh42
I think the cheap module can do everything you want when it is fixed. That being said, it doesn't work without being fixed. I would suggest that you buy it and I would send you the updated files, but then the developer would keep making money for putting out bad work and not supporting it. Its a conundrum. jo_acker
RCP 90, We were also looking for a SagePay Module for our new Shop. We followed SagePay's recommendation and purchased this one: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/243655-difference-between-the-2-sage-pay-modules-in-add-ons-store/ It allows you to set fraud settings and mark the transactions accordingly. For our callcenter it was very important to have to option to add Mail and Telefon orders directly from the administration interface.
benjamin utterback
Hi jo_acker, which one did you purchase? the link you provided was the same link as this thread. Any feedback about the module you purchased?
minervalabs
Hello, I am trying to evaluate the difference too. Other than the price has anyone identified between: Presto Changeo Module Sage Pay Go Presto Changeo has favourable reviews and is on the Sagepay website, whilst Sage Pay Go has been built by Prestashop and is certified. Any answers? Cheers!
tomerg3
I have not used the Prestashop module, however, I do not believe they have the option to embed the payment form directly in the checkout page, or issue refunds for any amount from the orders page. Other than that, I would say the reviews speak for themselves
oasisiow
I am also having troubles trying to decide which module to use? 1. Presto Changeo 2. Module Sage Pay Go 3. Customweb So far I like the Presto Changeo module too but wished it supported MOTO on the module.
RCP90
Just an update. I will be going with this module http://www.sellxed.com/shop/en/prestashop-sage-pay-zahlungs-modul.html has all of the fraud customization features I require and were very helpful on the phone. benjamin utterback
Hi RCP90, let us know how it goes. Were you not able to get the information needed from the Addon store concerning our SagePay module?
oasisiow
has all of the fraud customization features I require Sagepay allows you to adjust your security requirements on your account with them. I purchased the Presto changeo module and was really satisfied with the outcome, had alot of options to customise with just one click. At the end of the day its what you feel comfortable with and if it is what you require, then go with it. Just let us know on the forums with the outcomes. rootitooti
Dh42 - Is there any chance of getting the revised code for the sagepay direct module? I only found this thread after buying it and it doesn't work for me (assuming that someone with minimal skills can actually set it up?!) The error I get is - ForbiddenYou don't have permission to access /index.php on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. I am really getting fed up with these payment modules as I've failed to get paypal working and now sagepay is doing the same grrrr Thanks Tom

Dh42
That could actually be a bug in that version. I would update to at least 1.5.4.1 if I were you.
