Different item-price!

Recommended Posts

Hi

I started my web shop last week and undtil now I do not get any order... I found out that the item price in the categories is different than the price when you click on the item... It seems to that the VAT (danish VAT) is being added again...

I use 1.5.3 prestashop...

Any one can help? :)

Best regards

Moalz

A few questions:

As an example, I added a body (item baby-pige/48-body) to the shopping cart:

- What is the current danish VAT (I thought 25%, but I may be mistaken)?

- Is the price in the product list (46.89) correct? Is this price indeed excl VAT?

- is the price in the shopping cart (when adding the product) correct? (46.89 (excl vat), shipping 39, 9.38 VAT)

- is the price on the product page (54.52) a logic number? (say 46.89*vat rate) (N.B. shopping cart says (46.89+9.38=56.27))

N.B. Did you add your sitemap to your shop, and connected it to google analytics? This will enlarge your chance to get clients enormeously!) Just a thought...

Hope this helps, success with your shop!

(another thing, may be your shipping costs, that are starting very high (1 product 39 kr). I can see that adding products afterwards doesn't increase the costs (8 products also 39 kr), but this is only known after adding them.

These high costs for the first item may scare your clients away.

See if you can find other/cheaper ways to ship small amounts!

My 2 cents,

Pascal

Thank you for your answer...

- The current danish VAT is 25%.

- The price in the product list is with danish VAT.

- The price in the shopping cart (when adding the product) is not correct.. (46.89 (excl vat), shipping 39, 9.38 VAT)

- The price on the product page (54.52) is not a logic number... I do not know where it comes from :)

Any idea? :)

Thank you..

Hmmm,

I see that you cannot delete items in your shopping cart (column on the left) directly. Therefore I think we need to have a look at the theme you use. I've seen many problems with shopping carts etc and non compatible themes lately.

Therefore some more questions:

- You said you just started your webshop last week. Did you indeed start with this Prestashop version, or is it somehow an upgrade from a previous one? If so, what version did you start with?

- Do you use a theme that you bought elsewhere? Or is it just the default Prestashop theme, somewhat adjusted?

- If it is a bought one, can you check (with the designer) if this theme is 1.5.3 compatible?

- if it is not (yet) compatible, is there an upgrade coming (soon)?

Summarised from previous example we worked on:

- full price, inclusive of 25%(??) vat is 69.99 (shown correctly every time)

- on the product-list, there is a discount given of 33%. The reduced price is correct (46.89) and inclusive of 25%(??) VAT.

- on the product page, it wants to add another 20% tax (9.38) (Why 20%???)

- In the shopping cart (left black column). The price of the product is correct (46.89), but it wants to add the 20% (over the products price only, not the shipping. (N.B. Is the shipping price correct??)

- on the checkout page, the product price is correct (46.89 INCL VAT), The shipping is the same as in the shopping cart (39, INCL VAT). Then is summarises a total EXCL VAT of 46.89+39-9.38 = 76.51 ("Correct formula, only not clear still why 20%, not 25%)

- Then it summarizes the VAT (9.38) (Correct formula, but why 20%??)

- Then it summarises the grand total INCL VAT = 46.89+39 = 85.89, which is correct.

So there are two strange things here.

Why does it apply a vat of 20%, not 25%?

why does it mix product price INCL vat, and then mentions the VAT distracted from this price separately (and even adds them on the product page!)

The problem would be solved if we can either:

- make the product price shown EXCL vat (but maybe you don't want that, which I can understand)

- Never mentioning the VAT separately AND checking the product-page total price (should not add the VAT one more time)

And we need to know why it uses 20%...

Well,

please give me some answers on all questions I asked, especially about the theme used. and try to find out why it uses 20% instead of 25)
