benjamin utterback
Hi Dennisr32, are you trying to do the one click install?
Dennisr32
Yes, through Bluehost cpanel. Thanks
ravensbur
Most likely problem is that the server setting and server operating system, try to install a different version of Prestashop. --also give a new database name-- Edited April 22, 2013 by ravensbur (see edit history)
tdr170
Can you post the error message as I have installed on BlueHost for other customers. Or at what point the error appears.
Dennisr32
It says it is uploading and then installing and then removing, etc. Then I get the error message. "link to database coould not be established: SQLSTATE[2800] [1045] access denied to user 'ilovetob_pre@localhost (using Password yes)
ravensbur
Seems you don't have correct permission to the database. ---ilovetob_pre@localhost-----??? may be it is not @localhost i guess Edited April 22, 2013 by ravensbur (see edit history)

benjamin utterback
Hi Dennisr32, you should contact BlueHost again and have them fix the issue. Reference this partner page, https://www.bluehost.com/prestashop It should be an easy one click install.
ravensbur
path to your database may be is not correct, @localhost that means it is on localhost, your case the database may be on network somewhere , check your hosting company's help files
benjamin utterback
Using the one click install, you actually do not have to create a database or input anything to any filed other than the URL in which you want to have PrestaShop installed on. tdr170
Just try using localhost for database server, if that does not work you will need to find out the server name to the database. I use the server name instead of localhost as I had some issues on Ipage when using localhost. You should be able to find this info in the database section. On Ipage its listed on the top section of the database selection area. Like this.

If that doesn't work, i will probably open account with Hostgator. I heard they are more experienced with PrestaShop! Thanks again, everyone!! projectpb
I have been using Bluehost and Prestashop for years and have just used the manual install. No problems that way Just thought I would chime in Thanks Jeff
Dennisr32
I finally got it imstalled. I called BlueHost tech support. They are great. The problem was that one of the tech support guy just wasn't that familiar with PrestaShop, although he was trying to be very helpful. So I called back and got a tech guy who installed it for me. But, the problem was that there was no admin login information given to me. So we had to uninstall it and then manually install it again. This time all the admin/login ifo was shared with me. The only problem I have now, and it's a smali thing and that is that the PrestaShop site is not displayed on the MY Installs page. But, no big deal. Bluehost was really great. And thanks everyone here for you help.
benjamin utterback
Hi Dennis, Thanks good. We are partners with them so I found it surprising that they did not know what the problem. They almost always have good technical support, especially when it comes to our software. Did you know how to uninstall the simplescript install, or did they walk you through that? Dennisr32
I uninstalled it myself. I just clicked on the uninstall link. Next I will be importing a theme and adding products, etc
