Friendly URL

While entering new products I get an error message which says I must have an entry in the Friendly URL field. The new product will not be saved.

 

Out of 10 items, I get this error about 4 to 5 times. All other entries are saved with no problem. I do not know of any differences from one item to another.

 

I have also noticed that on some products a Friendly URL is generated automatically and on some products there isn't. It is inconsistent and I cannot determine any reason for it.

 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

When I add a product in 1.4.7.0 I have to click the button to generate a friendly url from the product title.

When you first open the product page though it isn't visible until you open up

Click here to improve product's rank in search engines (SEO)

then click

 

Generate Friendly-url from product name.

 

it has never automatically generated for me, always clicked the button and never had the error
