sgilbert
Hi Prestashop is a great ecommerce platform with many happy users, there is also many issues and bugs which is understandable with the amount of files and data available. This forum has many issues also, when setting up Prestashop, users have problems, some are easily rectified others more difficult depending on your own skill level, most members have no idea about coding, me included, we post on the forum for help from people who understand Prestashop, many forum topics are answered by a few members with no real advice or outcome, build up you hopes of a solution then they move to another topic and do the same again, please if you do not know the answer, say that you don’t know. There’s is four or five members who answer almost all topics and post no resolution to the asked question. Regards, Steve.
PascalVG
Hi Steve, I think all forum users would like to help if they can, and sometimes think they know an answer. If it doesn't work out as planned and it doesn't give the solution asked for, they may be 'out of ideas' for now and hope someone else will pick it up, come up with more suggestions, give direction etc. As you can imagine, telling many times ' Sorry, no idea', and exposing that to the whole community, may not be what people want to do. They may feel looked upon by the rest etc. If you want to see if the answer comes from 'PS-knowledged' people, a first (although not definite in any means) indication is the amount of likes they have got for their previous answers. Maybe you can use this when weighing an answer you get/see. Also, feedback on suggested solutions, adding [sOLVED} to the question header etc. helps others to find solutions faster. That's a collective responsibility... Don't forget, it's a forum run and 'powered' by volunteers, who like to help out others, and just do the best they can... sgilbert
Hi Pascal, Thank you for your comments, I totally understand the forum is on a volunteer basis, I respect that and thank all members who spend time and effort answering topics with genuine comments, I also see a few members answering many topics as soon as they are listed, with no real solutions, looks like they are trying to outdo each other with the amount of post they record.
