jodysingh786
I want to know that where do I paste the code of those websites with whom I am exchanging links. Let me be more elaborate. In my cpanel > public_html > there is a list of folders: admin-mysite, cache, classes, config, controllers, css etc Now which folder to open and then what path to follow to get to the correct file. How to recognise it? is it index.tpl or .html or pjp etc., How do I reach these files that represent the pages in my website? I know this is something quite elementary but somehow I just dont know so kindly help.

Paulito
Good Morning, What sort of links are you wanting to put on your site, are you wanting visitors to your site to be able to see these links, or do you want them hidden in the header.tpl file Paul
jodysingh786
I just want to complete the process of reciprocal link or link exchanging with other websites. Yes I suppose other websites will want that they are to be seen by visitors. So basically ;backlinks;
Paulito
If that all your doing then you can easily use a free module Here this will make it easier to add/delete links whenever you need to Paul
jodysingh786
I installed the html box. Then I pasted the code (given by the site: www.automaticbacklinks.com). The location I selected as home. It is a big code and started to cover half my page on the homepage of my site. When we put the other person's link we are asked to place it between head etc I mean basic directories and all just elementary link exchanging. Then the website confirms it by checking that I have put their code on a page in my website. So which file to edit and paste it in
Paulito
I think it should be header.tpl Mind you I don't think google likes this sort of thing Paul
jodysingh786
Well I am confused as then isnt it the way links are generated? I mean I have submitted my url at various paces. Some of them ask me to put their link and then they will put mine. I thought that this is done quite generally.
Paulito
google is happy about link but they must be relevant to your site. I am no expert in SEO but I do know that google hates link farms and what you maybe doing could damage your site. Googles vision is to help searchers get the information they want as quickly as possible, for me it is very difficult to explain. Have a look at the recent update of Panda/Penguin algorythms from Matt Cutts HERE Then google some more to learn as much as you can Paul
