Pasquale002
Hi, I have a question related to inserting an image in my cms block. When I upload it form my desktop it shows a questionmark, as if prestashop can´t recognize the picture. I tried putting the picture in the rootfolder using filezilla, (copy pasting the picture url) which works. However, problem is that the pictures will only be visible if you actually are logged into filezilla. So to the public the pictures are not visible. Please can someone help me with this. I would think that uploading the picture from the desktop would normally work fine and I would prefer that as its the most convenient way. Thanks in advance
NemoPS
Hi, can you verify which file permission that picture has if uploaded normally (when you get the error)?
vekia
i think the same as Nemo, it's probably permission issue. Try to set up chmod to 777 for directory and then try to upload it again
Pasquale002
Do I set that up only for the file containing the pictures? Or for everything in the rootfolder?
Pasquale002
And how is that related to safety issues? Doesn´t a chmod of 777 give hackers easy acces? Thanks for the reply guys
Pasquale002
I have another site where I use prestashop. There I have no problem uploading images from my desktop. Works perfectly. I really don´t get why I can´t upload pictures from my desktop using this version (prestashop 1.5.4) I guess it has to do with some permission issues indeed. Yet where do I modify it? Thanks
Bruna BSPCU
Go to the image that you want to upload and click with the right click on information. Than on Permissions click on the locker and put your password. Then in privilege put Read and Write for everybody and than click apply to all itens. Again click on the locker to close it. (This is in a Mac computer). If you have a PC just click with the right click above the file image and must be similar to that!
Pasquale002
Where exactly do I do that? I cant seem to find it in the ´browse image screen´. Weirdly in the ´folder infromation´ column to the left it says that the picture is both readable and writable and even if I click preview the image shows perfectly. However, when I select the image I get the questionmark as shown in the printscreen above. I really don´t know what to do with it. Bruna BSPCU
Try to regenerate thumbnails, go to Preferences>Images>Regenerate thumbnails>all. It is a possibility!
Pasquale002
Unfortunatly doesn´t work either. Is there no one that encounters the same problem? Is it already resolved at the link down below? Although that is an older version http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/172601-cannot-upload-images-in-the-cms-path-not-allowed/
