mandrin
Hi there, I have a running Prestashop 1.2.5 installation with many products. I also have a new fresh vanilla install of Prestashop 1.5.4. I want to copy my products from the 1.2.5 shop to the 1.5.4 shop. I don't care about the customisations on 1.2.5. I just want to transfer the products to the new store. That is all. Only the products, nothing else. Is there a way to do this? I will gladly pay for this service. Regards,

mandrin
Ta for the reply, Going to give this a bash this weekend I just hope there is not an issue to the different versions... I have heard people running into problems because the database structure in 1.5.4 is so much different, but I must come up with a solution. I need to transfer products in one go. I am not wanting to add products one by one Edited April 19, 2013 by mandrin (see edit history)
sadlyblue
The database structure is diferent. Best way is to find a csv export for your version, or export products from database and delete/add required fields. Then import in newer version. My advise, always try this first in another install of prestashop. Never on your main store (unless you backup/duplicate your current DB).
mandrin
Ye, I will have to do a compare between the two databases and see if I can copy just what I need. Thanks for the suggestion!
viaregio
mandrin I have same task like you. I have PS 1.3.1 and my try to upgrade was unsuccess. I try manual upgrade to 1.4.10 and to 1.5.1 till 1.5.4. I got various error. Most popular "Invalid loadTaxZones() SQL query!" I have experiment with export and than import category and item using CSV file and have problem with processing only same record . Most problem in special character that recognize as a limitation. My next idea write custom PHP script for direct insert data to new database.
ysco
If you want only transfer product, images, orders, etc etc then i can recommend cart2cart service. I have try`t for testing a clean install off PS 1.5.4.1 and then with cart2cart update my current PS 1.4.8.2 to the latest version off PS 1.5.4.1 and it all went very smooth. Take a look here http://www.shopping-.../147-prestashop It will do all as mentioned but you need to setup things like carrier, other personal settings, etc etc cause that sort off things are not updated. So you have a clean shop with latest PS installed but with all your customers, orders, images, products, etc etc from your old PS version. You can try the demo to see how it works and if this is what you want ysco.. Edited May 1, 2013 by ysco (see edit history)

mandrin
Yes. I used a service called Cart2Cart. It's really amazing and transferred all my froducts, images, combinations, attributes, manufacturers and various other backend stuff, PERFECTLY. This has saved me SO much time.
