barrystein
running 1.5.4 http://www.hss.switched-on-schoolhouse-curriculum.org I want to be able to offer free ground shipping as an option but I also want to offer express mail as an option that customers pay for With standard 5 step order process There is an option for Estimating the cost of shipping and taxes.I have a carrier called free shipping, which offers free shipping.I also have media mail, priority mail and express mail tied into the usps rates. after putting in my state and zip to estimate shipping All 4 carriers come up I choose the free shipping option, but the cart reflects the lowest priced option, which it thinks is media mail at $2.54 for some reason Free shipping isn't consider the lowest priced shipping to show in the cart, and when I choose free shipping and hit update cart, the cart still shows the $2.54 for media mail. benjamin utterback
Hi, Barry, when I tested your store, I could not find any other carrier other than Free Shipping.
barrystein
Benjamin, Thanks for responding... When I go to the store, put a product in the cart and select one of the 48 states it shows free shipping, media mail, priority mail and express mail. And the cart picks out the lowest cost ignoring free - which is $2.54 Please see attached screen shot where free shipping, media, priority, and express are shown as carrier options, Free shipping is checked Yet $2.54 the cost of media mail is still showing in the cart.... Hi, Barry, when I tested your store, I could not find any other carrier other than Free Shipping.
CJHacker
I have a very similar issue happening on my site. On my site, we allow free in store pickup as an option if you select either Minnesota or North Dakota. If you select In store pickup and update the cart, it still shows my USPS charge of $6 in the cart. Has a solution been found to this yet?
benjamin utterback
Hi CJhacker, do you have a URL that you can post? The USPS charges add automatically?
CJHacker
Benjamin, I wasn't trying to hijack this thread, but thanks for taking a look. I just turned maintenance mode off so you should be able to gain access. It appears that if a customer is logged in, it works correctly for them, but if they are not yet logged in, it keeps showing that USPS rate. http://www.scottysdips.com
benjamin utterback
Hi CJHacker. As I went through the whole checkout process. The free store pickup worked for me. The only problem I could see what that before you put you address in, it will add the shipping cost. However, after you put your address in, and selected free shipping, it worked. CJHacker
Yes, that's what I'm seeing. Users must register before it will give them the free shipping pricing in their cart. I'm thinking I'll just turn off the shipping estimate option and not show them a price until they reach stage 4 in the checkout process. Is that the way it's supposed to process or am I missing something in my setup? Edited May 7, 2013 by CJHacker (see edit history)
benjamin utterback
Hi CJHacker, I think that would be the best idea. It can be a little confusing, especially when it automatically adds the price to the cart, in this case, prematurely.
alvirtuoso
I have exact the same problem since 1.4. and same with latest 1.5 Having all USPS(priority), UPS(ground, 2nd day, next day) working, I added custom carrier to provide free shipping to set up Free Shipping only to continental US, which means not free in Hawaii, Alaska, and other U.S territories(puerto rico, virgin islands, guam, APO). It always uses the default carrier i had setup before i the custom carrier free shipping. I then setup my custom carrier as default and now i could not even add a product to my cart. The cart summary table is gone and the cart is empty.

How did you turn off the shipping estimate option prior to the checkout process. i have shipping estimate that comes up on each product page, i want to turn this off, and only have one total at check out.. At that point I want to give US$ currency payments/orders a shipping discount.. i am using the latest Prestashop 1.6 Version. Please help, this is driving me crazy....
