Emails translations error: Cannot write language file for email subjects.

Recommended Posts

Helo again.

I am now trying to translating the emails and when i press save i am presented with this message:

Cannot write language file for email subjects. Path is: /home3/tekcente/public_html/store/themes/default/mails/pt/lang.php

I do not have the "mails" folder inside themes/default,

the solution is obvious: copy the "mails" folder and pasted inside: /themes/default/

but there is no other way to fix this? it's ok changing the files to another place?

there will it be conflicts?

I am not a coder, i am really a noob in this field, and i am fixing things that the PROS can't fix or forget to fix, <_<

i found and fixed nearly 20 bugs / errors / mistakes! the most of them fixed by my own effort

come on prestashop... this is not a bug, this is stupidity!

it's a shame prestashop is full of bugs...

if well coded prestashop could be one of the best of it's kind.

Best regards for all the PROS, may the force be with you

This bug was resolved in 1.5.4.1. Just select core(no theme selected).

So this worked guys, i am editing mails/en in Dreamweaver but it is not changing anything, and i have that error message if i go in to BO and edit translations. I copy that folder to my theme folder? I am not using the default theme should i use my actually theme for this?

Kind regards

Patrick

yes, thanks that I found this very helpful. I have my email templates edited and translated properly.

So have I, but while testing it as a customer I see they still recieve the 'default' emailtemplates.

Have you tested how they look for your end user?

Hi there.

Check the owner of your files. If might be "apache", while it should be hosting username. If so, reset ownership.

Hey Tomzie

Tahnks for your answer. I honestly didnt understand much of that :-)

My skills are very limited.. sorry. Are we talking about file permissions?

Not permissions but ownership. What software runs your hosting account?    (Cpanel, DirectAdmin, Windows, ...)

No. Seeing your hosting I think Plesk is used.

Go to "File Manager". You should be able to see ownership (probably apache), select it and "reset ownership". Do this for all files.

If you can't find how to do this, you should contact your host for this.

I guys.

I sloved.. .at leat half way.

I copied he mail folder from the root, to the themes, my theme.

So far so good BUT... Everytime I try to save after editing an html.file in the email translations, all the css disappears, and the html ends up being nothing but text.

Any idea why this is happening? :)
