Cannot configure different shipping options for different products

Hi Everyone!

 

Its my first time using this forum so please forgive me if you have covered this problem. I have searched the net and cannot seem to find the solution to my problem.

 

there are 3 different shipping options for my site:

1. Free pickup

2. Road freight door to door

3. Over night door to door

 

 

Product1 can only have the options:

1. Free pickup

2. Road freight door to door

 

Product 2 can only have the options:

1. Free pickup

2. Overnight door to door

 

Problem:

When the customer selects Product 1 and Product 2, on the shipping options page, only the free pickup option is available.

 

what i need is for there to be different shipping options for Product 1 and Product 2 when at the shipping options page. not just the cheapest option since picking up sometimes isnt the best for the client.

 

If the client choses delivery, he / she should be able to chose road freight door to door for product 1 and over night door to door for product 2.

 

Any ideas?

Sounds like what you want is for someone to be able to indicate different shipping options to different products in the same order. Not sure if it is possible. They may have to make multiple orders. Or, you might be able to use the "ship to different addresses" options.

 

But just in case, you haven't, you can set the shipping options under 'Product' --> Shipping:

 

1. Go to: Catalog --> Product

2. Click on the product desired

3. Click on 'Shipping'

4. Highlight the appropriate Carriers in the 'Carriers' box

5. Save

 

I don't know what happens for orders that include different products that require different carriers. Do me a favor, create a test order and report back your experience. I would like to know. Are you given different options for different products during the checkout process?

Thank you for your reply. i have done this but its still not working correctly.

 

let me show you an example:

 

Product1

shipping 1 - $1

shipping 2 - $2

 

Product 2

shipping 1 - $1

shipping 3 - $4

 

if a customer selects to buy product 1 and 2, on the checkout page he doesnt have an option to select shipping 2 or shipping 3, only the cheapest option comes up which is shipping 1.

 

i would like them to be able to choose the right option they want per product if the shipping is different?
