Back office menu dropdowns are static after upgrade to 1.5.4

Hi,

 

I've just upgraded to 1.5.4 from 1.4.7 with no content as this is a new site. The whole back office layout is messed up and displaying incorrectly. Can anyone help please?

Try clearing your cache.

 

If that doesn't work, and if you've done an automated update, try manually uploading the admin directory and the js directory.

I had the same problem, nothing worked until i found out that:

 

for some reason, prestashop generated a .htaccess file in the CSS folder located in the root folder of the shop

This file will not let admin.css load, so the back office appears messed up.

 

If you clear the contents of that file, or delete the file, everything goes back to normal.

 

Also. if you go take a look in the js folder of the root directory, you will find the same htaccess evildoer. Clear that too. It should work.

Ok,

 

Deleting .htaccess file, and trying to refresh the page, moves you to a FORBIDDEN page.

 

How does this file is regenerated?

After upgrading PS from 1.4.10 my menus in the backend would all be static, or not drop down when rollover. Very confusing.

Deleting the .httaccess in the root/js and root/css folders fixed this.
