marcoal5333
Hello, We are planning to move to Prestashop using Multistore management but we need that each of our webstores (front end web sites) use its own independent hosting in order to obtain own different C-Class IP for each domain. Can somebody tell us how to connect Prestashop server with each hosting? For example: - Our magento Main Admin panel will be installed in the following domain and hosting: www.secureadminpanel.com hosted with Arvixe - First frontend shop will name www.shop1.com hosted with HostGator - Second Frontend shop will name www.shop2.com hosted with Iweb - Third frontend shop will name www.shop3.com hosted with godaddy. How we can do this to connect our main Admin management to each of those site if all of them are using its own hosting and has own IP's and if its possible? We need to do this to improve ranking of each domain, because if all domains (even different domain names) are hosted in the same hosting that has same C-Class IP's finally Google will see it as related domains and will not rank each domain correctly (it will see it as the only domain). Please tell me if its possible to configure that domains and how? Because from what I have found all domains have to be located in the same hosting (so maybe customers will see that as different domains even if they look different and has different products) but not Google. Google will see it as the only domain. Waiting replies and suggestions. El Patron
fyi: if you use ccTLD's for the domain name, i.e. France, then the IP address is not used for localizaton (not penalized in search engine organics). You will not be able (as far as I know) run a PS multishop on separate hosting, You would need separate installations for each host. Ok now the question that I have is the following: for example we use ONE single hosting to host several domains. Does all domains has to share the same IP's or IPs for each domain could be different. For example when we purchase a dedicated server some hosting companies provide up to 10 different IP's. Can we assign to each domain located in the same hosting its Unique IP? Will it affect fuctionality of Multi-Domain or not? For example: Domain1.com will have the following IP xxx.xxx.xxx.001 and domain2.com will have IP xxx.xxx.xxx.002 Is that possible that inside the ONE single hosting each domain has its own unique IP using Multistore function? Thanks! Edited April 10, 2013 by marcoal5333 (see edit history)
vekia
For the first I have to admit that you have started a very interesting topic. I worked many times with multishop & multidomains feature but never with many IP addresses on one server. I think that there should not be a problem, prestashop dont use IP addresses - just domain names. Of course I can not be sure, because I never tested it. My arguments are based on my knowledge about prestashop. Maybe someone of us, community members worked with this? I would appreciate a response, the subject is very interesting.

Thanks! as vekia stated, native prestashop does not use the domain's IP i.e. setting the dns IP for each domain is transparent to PS following are some general methods to add additional domains to you single installation 1.plesk - alias new domain to main domain 2.cpanel = park new domain to main domain 3. shared hosting = (go daddy for example), point domain name to installed ps folder 4. DNS pointing (for advanced users) EDITED: You may be required to have separate IP's by domain, depending on your SSL needs and certificate type.
