schnappi Posted April 7, 2013 Share Posted April 7, 2013 Hello, First of all upgrading to 1.5.3.1 killed my 1.4 shop and I had to recreate it. It is what it is though. With 1.5.3.1 I have not been able to get the Google Checkout Module to work. After clicking "pay with google checkout" it redirects to a blank white screen. I can't remember if this occurs in a new window or the same window (if this is relevant I can run another test and look). Now this being said I read that the API requires SSL. Right now I do not have SSL installed on the shop in question. So my question is as follows: has anyone had trouble with Google Checkout while using a SSL certificate? I have no problem getting another SSL certificate and installing it. But prior to going through the cumbersome installation process I wanted to inquire if this problem is due to lack of SSL in the first place...and that this is not part of a deeper problem with the Google Checkout module in 1.5+. It is a pity that no-one has stepped in to ofeer suggestions. I plan to eventually install a SSL certificate and test if the issue is still present, but some assistance now would be appreciated. I have been using gcheckout but the newest version of presta no longer supports it and it is no longer installed as standard. which frankly sucks! I now see that the Prestashop team was actually ahead of the curve in discontinuing to support Google Checkout: Hello, A key focus of Google Wallet is to simplify and improve the commerce experience for merchants and shoppers. Just last week, we announced two enhancements to the Google Wallet platform. The Instant Buy API enables merchants to offer a fast buying experience to Google Wallet shoppers on their Android apps and websites, while processing their own payments. In addition, the new Wallet Objects API enables merchants to engage their customers with loyalty, offers, and more. As we continue to build the Wallet platform, we must focus our priorities. That is why we are announcing today that we will retire Google Checkout. We remain heavily invested in building a platform that enables merchants to meet the demands of a multi-screen world where consumers shop in-store, at their desk and on their mobile devices.
