Confused trying to manually change language

hello,

I am trying to change the language/text into Thai only. I have installed the Thai language pack but no text changes at all, so I am trying to change all the templates by hand if this is possible?

 

However, I started with Preferences>CMS Pages >Edit and I changed the field 'Meta description', for example ...'delivery' to the Thai language 'จัดส่งทั่วประเทศ' however I receive this error...

 

The field link_rewrite is required at least in English (United States).

or

The field link_rewrite is required at least in Thai.....(if I use Thai as the default language)

 

what does this mean?

 

If I change the Meta description using English font it works, so it seems there is a problem for it to accept the Thai fonts? Is there a way around this?

 

I was hoping that prestashop would be a simple script to modify but it seems very overwhelming to me
