therm
At first I want to say hi to everyone as this is my first post ;-) Now to the topic. I'm a shop owner but I'm not satisfied with how it looks like and neither how it works. I have decided to give Prestashop a try but before I delete my current shop from the hosting server and load Presta' I would like to have everything set up hence my following question. Is it possible to create a "fake" server on my laptop just to load Prestashop on it to see how it works and set up all the visuals (this is going to be a longer process as I'm going to consult it with some other people before I got a final look) before I run it under my domain? So I got 2 new questiosn for now: 1) How do I access the Back Office? 2) How do I move my shop to a hosted server after I set up everything? Copy all files into remote server, change entries in config file and change entries in database: ps_shop_url table thats all - it will work :-)

The requested URL was not found on this server. If you entered the URL manually please check your spelling and try again. If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster. Error 404 localhost Apache/2.4.3 (Win32) OpenSSL/1.0.1c PHP/5.4.7 BTW now I closed the instalation window so aint got acces to the mentioned button and doing it manually. What is the backoffice adress? localhost/prestashop/backoffice? UPDATE: it is localhost/prestashop/admin123 problem solved ;-) Edited April 8, 2013 by therm (see edit history)
benjamin utterback
After you installed PrestaShop on a local host, you should have renamed the admin folder and deleted the Install Folder from the root. Your backoffice would be localhost/[Root Folder]/[Re-named Admin folder]
