benjamin utterback
Hi, in my experience, the caching system has had some difficulty. I think some members have had good results with APC cache but not memcache.

the.rampage.rado
My host support installed APC and there was improvement in loading times but the FO and BO occasionally threw up errors and I removed it from the system. Could somebody give a hint on improving fist page loading times (now it's near 8-9 seconds).... The following pages are fast (under 1 sec) but the first one is the problem. Shop with 150 products... TimKilleen
Hi, Seems to be some confusion on the presta forums about Memcache. People are throwing the name "Memcache" and "Memcached" around and interchanging them intermittently. As far as I am aware CacheMemcache.php is a client program/script that interacts with "Memcache" server (with PECL extension) on your host machine. "Memcache-d" is a different server application and prestashop does not interact with this for caching. Can someone confirm this to be the case? And if I'm correct, why in Presta backend in "Advanced Parameters->Perfromance " does it read "Memcachded" as the caching system dropdown? I am also on the look out for a Memcache Manager module if anyone knows of one? One which allows me to change my configuration, add multiple server instances and shows me what objects (keys/values) are sitting in Memcache at any one time? Help on this would be much appreciated?
