After used Pres 1.4 for about 2 years, I tried in dec. the 1.5.3 which was not a susses due to many errors (understandable for a new release) , but most because of the speed. Now the 1.5.4 final is finished, I installed this, and optimized it with cache-opt. etc. Still it was much slower than my 1.4 even with only few products. However it was reasonable. THE BIG problem came, when i used a brand new responsive theme. (Tested with 5 diff themes) This resulted in a responstime of app 6 til 8 SECONDS !!! I have bought both the Elation Liquid plus the full package (41 themes) at Leo themes. In the nature, I guess responsive designs uses lots of power to be able to fit the graphics, but even clicking on "legal conditions takes 6 seconds". And that only with the three demo products installed! If this is what responsive "cost" its of no use. What ever the explanation is, this is the 1.5 contra the old 1.4 on same conditions. My Hosting Memory Limit is 256mb, and I think it's enough for 4 or 5 products that I started to put in my website. Please advice since I am a merchant and I need to know if it's worth it to spend time on this version. Is there any hope from developer to overcome this issue and other crucial issue like shipping problems that I've reported on forge. Thank you developer and all Prestashop team. Concerning speed I only can tell that my response times and experience is not that bad in fact there is no big difference but I don't have a shared hosting. You can test it with the sites in my signature. The international site is running 1.5.4.1 and the german (*.de) 1.4.10.(but will upgrade soon) all on the same server. I just checked my google and pingdom stats and there is no remarkable difference. So if your site is unusual slow you have to find the bottleneck. What exactly is your shipping problem? I had a problem with shipping carriers not shown at check out and i solved it by going to admin page -->stock-->whearhouse and select them all in there. After upgrating all were unselected. So i selected them again and that solved my problem. Presta version 1.5.4.1. Hope this wiil solve your problem. But I have 3 warning messages in the Performance page . Are they important,please see the attachment?if yes, how can I resolve them? You can ignore the warnings. 1) I doubt that you have these features on your webserver and 2) from my experience they do not enhance performance... I posted that already on the bug tracker. patuga Posted June 27, 2013 Share Posted June 27, 2013 i'm having the same problem. prestashop 1.5 is slow as hell. i upgraded because of the ability to select carriers for each product. but i found there's a module that would allow me to do that. i i could go back to 1.4 i would....
